I believe many friends who visit this website may not know much about me, so I’ll take a moment to introduce myself!
Honestly, I’m quite lazy when it comes to spending time writing an article about myself. I usually have little free time with all the offers I need to test and various tasks to handle. However, I can’t expect to have it all without putting in the effort, right? Since I’ve chosen to work on a project that’s currently trending and leverage traffic effectively, I guess I shouldn’t be too picky about it!
Let me summarize a few stages of my life in order; this might give you a more well-rounded view of who I am!
So, let’s get started!
Fresh Out of Campus, Working Like a Horse
Like most college graduates, I found a satisfactory job right after graduation. I joined a leading financial company, and the salary at that time was quite good. However, with the high pay came a greater demand for my time and energy. My work life was characterized by this: my mind was always on work, and even on weekends, I felt I couldn’t relax or slack off, leaving almost no room for my personal life.
My personality can be summed up by a lyric: “Forgive me for being free-spirited and loving freedom; how could I fear falling one day?”
Slowly, I began to question whether this high-intensity, exhausting work life was truly what I wanted.
What kind of life did I really want? After watching the personal experiences of a YouTuber named Xiao Chuan, I found my answer. I’ll share one of her videos here (you’ll need a little magic to access it~), hoping it helps anyone feeling lost in life. Of course, while she discusses the worries that come after achieving financial freedom, we’re still dealing with the challenges before reaching that point, haha!
Starting My Entrepreneurial Journey — The First Turning Point in Life
Ever since the idea of “traveling, having fun, and making money” sprouted in my mind, my longing for freedom has grown stronger. Although I hadn’t earned much money yet, I was filled with anticipation for this kind of life. Ultimately, it was about freedom—having the freedom to stay home and binge-watch shows was incredibly comforting, even if I wasn’t traveling.
Things took a turn after an incident involving office politics.
Those who know me are aware that I absolutely detest the workplace atmosphere. I often tell myself, “We’re all just in the grind; why rush to tear each other apart?” While I can see through many situations immediately, I prefer to play the fool, giving others the stage to perform. I quietly applaud from the sidelines and avoid conflicts with colleagues. However, there are always people who try to challenge your boundaries.
Finally, after a “blame-shifting” incident at work, I slammed my hand on the table in front of my superior. This was the fundamental reason for my disdain for the workplace—petty conflicts among the incompetent.
In any workplace, you’ll find that no matter where you jump to—any company or department—there will always be a small group of people who don’t focus on improving their skills or performance. Instead, they spend their days engaged in office politics, figuring out how to undermine others, shift blame, or curry favor with their superiors.
Honestly, I find this a bit childish… it’s meaningless.
These underperformers only maximize their benefits by uniting against others. Yet, there are always a few who think they’re clever enough to step on others and then shift the blame, taking all the benefits for themselves.
I simply can’t tolerate selfish behavior that harms others while benefiting oneself! Ugh, my temper!
So, I quit my job on the spot!
Afterward, I was inspired and even wrote a little poem about my office life, haha:
“Office Worker”
Morning sun warms my busy steps,
At night, cold stars cast a lonely shadow.
How many tales of love and strife,
Why dwell by the keyboard and phone?
In fact, before I resigned, I had already begun exploring various entrepreneurial paths, and I had some promising directions I wanted to pursue. This incident made me silently vow: the next time I step into a workplace, I’ll be the boss, not the underling!
After this event, I didn’t send out another resume and closed all my job search profiles, hoping to reduce HR’s attempts to contact me.
Looking back, I’m quite grateful for this experience. It helped me let go of any illusions about my career: why not just work for myself and be my own boss?
Later, after I started learning about fortune-telling and destiny, I realized that perhaps that year marked a turning point for me—a period of great fortune. As a result, people and situations that didn’t resonate with my energy began to surface and then leave my life for various reasons.
So, I want to tell you, sitting in front of the screen: if you’re currently going through a low period and facing difficulties, don’t give up on yourself. If you persevere, a brighter future awaits! Often, those low periods signal the beginning of a great change in fortune!
The Taste of Freedom
In one of his videos, a popular influencer once said, “Once you taste freedom, there’s no going back!”
I deeply resonate with this sentiment. If you’ve ever been part of the nine-to-five grind and then found a way to carve your own path through entrepreneurship, I bet you understand exactly what he means.
Now, if someone suggested I go back to a job with a fixed salary, my response would be: “No way! Politely see yourself out!”
Since starting my own venture, I’ve savored the taste of freedom—my time is entirely my own, and I no longer have to work for the so-called “evil capitalists.” This feeling? Absolutely liberating!
You might be curious about the path I chose for my entrepreneurial journey. Back then, personal media was exploding, so naturally, I went for a personal media IP. But how would I monetize it? Knowing my long-standing passion for digital products, I set my sights on Huaqiangbei…
Those familiar with Huaqiangbei know it’s a paradise for all kinds of digital and electronic products. Plus, it’s often where cutting-edge tech first hits the market!
After quitting my job, I went straight to Huaqiangbei without a second thought. I’m the type to take decisive action—if I see a promising direction, I go for it.
I also set a tough goal for myself: to survive in this new, unfamiliar industry without relying on anyone or any stable income source. It was a bit like a survival challenge, similar to Bear Grylls in the wild!
So, I started by posting digital product review videos on major social media platforms, helping fans buy products they messaged me about. Some might think, “Is that even a business model? It’s just so simple…”
Simplicity is key.
And it turned out I was right! In no time, I hit my first financial milestone. I was lucky to ride the wave of platform support for new creators, which brought a flood of views. I also strategically used trending keywords in my video titles, which helped me gain followers fast. Every day, I was swamped with messages and questions from fans—I could barely keep up.
At the peak, I spent every waking hour chatting with fans, converting sales, and making money. The only break I got was a one-hour lunch nap, but even then, fans would call me, eager to get answers. Resting peacefully was out of the question!
Huaqiangbei has always been a place where wealth legends are made, and it has given rise to countless fortunes over the years. Though it’s seen a bit of a decline recently, it’s still a place brimming with opportunities. If you’re feeling lost, why not take a shot at Huaqiangbei? You never know…
After earning my first bucket of gold, I got my first taste of true freedom.
Every day was unrestrained. I no longer had to report to a boss, worry about what to say in meetings, or drag myself out of bed at 3 a.m. to fix a PowerPoint…
(Speaking of PowerPoint… the first thing I did after quitting was to uninstall every “presentation software” on my computer. And yes, the first to go was PowerPoint! If nothing changes, I’ll never touch it again. I’m a pragmatic person and can’t stand anything phony. To me, PowerPoint is just a tool for making inflated promises, a means for dreamers to fool those who’ve never had the real deal. But hey, no need to follow my lead—plenty of people have raised funds with some well-designed slides!)
Meeting a Mentor and Entering Cross-Border E-commerce: The Second Turning Point in My Life
At this point, I have to express my gratitude for the mentor I met in life—Mr. Xiang.
That statement deserves its own line!
In the digital industry, though I was making much more than I had at my job and had built a base of loyal, private clients, I hit a ceiling in terms of traffic. I didn’t know how to run ads, and my business was beginning to decline.
On that note, private traffic has incredible loyalty! Many of my clients came back to me for repeat purchases, and they only trusted me when buying digital products. So, if you can build up a few thousand private WeChat followers and serve them well, you could be set for life.
By chance, I met Mr. Xiang. I had the privilege of learning from him in person for over a year, which transformed my outlook, presence, and mindset. The most notable change was that I no longer hesitated to call out things I disliked or to say “no” to things I didn’t want to do. I often looked back on the previous day’s decisions and thought, “What was I thinking?” And, on top of all that, my income began growing exponentially year by year.
If you ever have the chance, I highly recommend connecting with Mr. Xiang in person. Meeting him is an eye-opener: ad placement is just one of his skills. Beyond ad strategies, he excels in foundational business strategies, marketing insights, relationship management, business modeling, and even feng shui and destiny analysis. These areas, I believe, are the most valuable takeaways, as many people miss the essence by focusing on immediate technical skills.
Picking up a few ad tricks is just a technique, not the core principle. Techniques and “hacks” are temporary. Real growth comes from sustainable practices. Chasing “techniques” will exhaust you; embracing “principles” will have the techniques chasing you.
All those “make money online” programs you see—like dropshipping on Xianyu, product seeding on Xiaohongshu, unmanned livestreaming on Douyin, product placement on Zhihu, and quick account growth on Video Accounts—are essentially:
A combination of N traffic channels in the front end + N monetization products in the back end = N squared training programs, repeatedly repackaged. If you don’t understand the fundamentals, you’ll be taken in over and over again.
With all these channels available, mastering just one could be enough for financial security—because in this game, control the traffic, and you control the market!
A New Journey—The Third Turning Point in My Life
The two turning points above allowed me to pay off my mortgage ahead of schedule, leaving me debt-free and finally free to do what I truly enjoy.
Reaching this stage, I’ve gained a new perspective on life: Making money isn’t necessarily hard to achieve; the real luxury is having both money and time. And the greatest wealth of all? Having time to spend with those who matter most.
So, I knew the third turning point in my life was coming. During that period, my mind was constantly and uncontrollably firing off new ideas for making money—day and night. It even followed me into my dreams, each night brimming with new possibilities! This feeling grew stronger every day, a signal that I needed to move on and focus on ventures with a longer-lasting impact and greater returns over time.
In the future, I’ll be updating my videos on YouTube and other social media platforms. I’m still new to the cross-border e-commerce industry and have a lot to learn, but I want to create a channel to share what I study and absorb each day as video tutorials for those who are just starting out.
This website will also be updated in sync to document my growth and insights in this new field.
So, let’s begin!
